Managing Difficult Conversations is a session that anyone at any level can benefit from, however for those in leadership positions, it is a vital skill necessary to be successful in your role. Participants will learn tools and methodology for getting through some of the more challenging aspects of being a manager of people. Said differently, there's no avoiding a difficult conversation. How you manage these toughest of conversations can literally be the difference that positions your organization for success (or not). In this session, you'll understand how to improve both individual and team morale and performance, how to have fewer unresolved issues and tensions, demonstrate you are invested in your team's success, show respect for those who look to you for leadership and ultimately how to be a better leader.

    Dave Stewart, JD, Senior Consultant, has over 20 years of public and private sector experience. Immediately prior to joining HRH, Dave served for 10 years as HR Director for the Town of Hanover, where he managed all facets of the town's human resource's function, including extensive familiarity with HRIS platforms, including PayCom. He previously served for six years as an HR Consultant for Dartmouth College, specializing in employee and labor relations. Prior to being an HR professional, Dave was a practicing Vermont attorney and served as an Assistant Attorney General, followed by six years as General Counsel to the VSEA. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Dave holds a bachelor's degree from Pomona College and a law degree from Northeastern University. He and his wife, Anne, live in Norwich, VT.
